My name is Pamela Mc Loughlin and I am doing the virtual Dublin City Marathon on Sunday 25th October 2020 to raise money for the ARC cancer support centre together with Joanne Mc Cabe , Kim Costello and Emmanuel O'Leary, cancer and health conditions have affected all of our lives in different ways.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2018. That day my world changed forever. From day one the staff and volunteers in ARC Cancer Support Centres have been like family to me and have been by my side supporting me both physically and mentally. Every visit to ARC you are welcomed with such warmth and kindness, I can’t say enough about the amazing team in ARC who look after me. They are so helpful and caring and they are truly wonderful people for giving their time.
That is why we are taking on the Virtual Dublin City Marathon to give back to the ARC and raise as much as we can . With the support of ARC I feel I have actually gained more than I lost with cancer. I will be forever grateful for their time and support. Even through covid ARC are supporting people with zoom online classes such as yoga and mindfulness.
ARC provides psychological, emotional, educational and practical support to people with cancer and those who care for them. Whether you have been recently diagnosed, are in treatment, finished treatment, or caring for a loved one with cancer, ARC provides survivorship programmes, complementary therapies, counselling to support you during a difficult period to come to terms with the illness and to enhance your coping skills and quality of life. ARC services are confidential, professional and caring, and are provided free of charge. ARC Cancer Support Centres is here to support and help you and your loved ones when you receive a cancer diagnosis.
