Hi friends!! With all of the chaos and negative energy in our auras these days I decided I needed to do something. To find a way to turn rage and sadness into love energy. Most people know I have a deep love for the homeless community, especially my beautiful neighbors in DTLA. We all know that systemic racism is a deep rooted problem in our society. That racism is also translated into the disproportionate amount of African Americans who battle homelessness. According to a NY Times article published in December of 2019, African Americans make up 8% of Los Angeles county’s population, but they are 42% of the homeless population. During these trying times dealing with Covid-19 and the racial unrest, I feel like a message we can all learn during this time is that we shouldn’t be ok with being a part of the problem, we need to be a part of the solution. So the other night with the help of some friends, we decided to mobilize and organized a donation of food and socks for our friends who live on the streets of downtown Los Angeles. By word of mouth, we raised $275 in a matter of hours, prepared 30 bags with food and water and gave out 32 pairs of socks! We would love to continue funding our efforts with your help. We want to continue feeding, clothing and providing financial support in ways that help our homeless neighbors thrive.
