DSM BLM Full Time Organizer

I need your help to continue to fight for justice and systemic change in Des Moines, IA.

For the last three weeks, I have been organizing our city to demand justice for the murder of Breonna Taylor and every single Black person who has been taken away from us by police brutality.

As one of the leaders of the Des Moines Black Liberation Movement, this work has turned into a full-time commitment for me. I quit my job to dedicate my energy to the liberation of my Black community. Now my days are full of strategy meetings, communication, organizing actions and community uplifting events. We have organized communities, stood up to DMPD and influenced new laws.

Our work isn’t stopping any time soon.

While this work can be rewarding and fulling, it has also been emotionally, physically and mentally demanding. Your support can help me take care of my financial health, take care of my bills and dedicate even more of my time to this fight.
