Dover Western Heights Preservation Society

I'm raising money in aid of WESTERN HEIGHTS PRESERVATION SOCIETY and every donation will help.

We are a small group of volunteers who look after the amazing Drop Redoubt fort, Grand Shaft staircase and North Entrance tunnel as part of the massive Napoleonic and Victorian defensive works at the Western Heights.

We receive virtually no official funding and are completely reliant on contributions from the public for our works.

We undertake renovation and clearance works at the fort, hold Open Weekends, provide tours for the public and school groups, undertake research, and much more. In addition, we are the only group in Dover that works to publicise this forgotten military heritage.

Thanks to volunteer donations, we have recently begun a programme to re-floor major sections of the fort, costing many thousands for the wood and other supplies. We want to continue this project with your help.
