Doug and Mom Shirai fire impact donation

Aloha,

This is Curtis requesting donations for Doug and Mom Shirai.

Mom and Dad Shirai built a loving home on their property 65-years ago. Many wonderful memories and stories of sacrifice came with time. It was a modest home and offered comfortable shelter for many years.

This past Thursday, April 28 around 1:00 PM,the Shirai’s next door neighbor’s home caught fire due to an electrical fault. Doug needed to wake his 95-year old mother from an afternoon nap. He helped her out of the house and was unable to return to get any of his needed possessions. They both left the home with only their clothes on their backs and good memories.

Their home wasn’t able to make it to another day, and caught fire and was eventually destroyed. Their home is now a charred shell and deemed unlivable.

Doug has always given and never expected anything in return. He is truly Lokomaikai. However, he and his mom now need some help. It’s time to start over.

They both are still In shock and disbelief. How could this happen!!!
