DONNY'S BIG FIGHT

Meet our lovable Cairns workmate Donny Haller

Unfortunately, Donny has just been diagnosed with Stage 4 Double Hit DLBCL (Diffused Large b-Cell Lymphoma) and will stop work in the branch at the end of the week to start the long road of treatment as prescribed. This is the 2nd time Donny has been diagnosed with this, and had his world turned upside down, the first being nearly 5 years ago to the month when he learned he had this aggressive disease. Donny is looking at being unable to work for at least the next 10 months and won’t have enough sick or annual leave to see him through this tough period.

He will undergo 3 rounds of advanced high dose chemo, break for 3 weeks and then repeat a 2nd round of 3-week treatments. Once completed Donny will need to fly to Townsville for bone marrow and stem cell removal which will be frozen for future use. He will then come back to Cairns and endure another 3 rounds of chemo and once completed he will again travel to Townsville to undergo 3 months of isolation, bone marrow and stem cell transplants.

Donny and Lina, his lovely wife will need all the help they can get to help ease the burden of medical bills and accommodation costs in this time and anything to help this lovely couple in such a rough time would be greatly appreciated
