Donate to the Sonning CC pavilion refurbishment

We are delighted to inform you that we have finally got the go-ahead to renovate the Sonning Cricket Club pavilion, with the works starting in mid November.

We anticipate that completion will take place around the start of the new cricket season, which I’m sure you’ll all agree is fantastic news.

This news comes at the end of a long five-year journey, where a number of people in the cricket club have been heavily involved in supporting the process and we want to thank all of them. We also want to thank the people that have so far donated funds, however small or large, towards the club. Many of you have contributed and we couldn’t have done this without you.

When we start the renovation, there are a number of additional works that we would also like to do. The money that we’ve raised so far, given the rapid increase in building costs over the last five years, only enables us to do the works scheduled on the existing Pavilion. In addition to this we would also like to upgrade the lower nets, improve the outdoor area, build a BBQ, improve the compound and purchase new furniture, fixtures and fittings etc to compliment the newly refurbished Pavilion.

To do all of this we will need additional funds and we are calling on each and every one of you to have a final push to donate any amount of money in order to help us get this over the line, given that we are literally using every penny that we’ve got to do the renovation work.
