My name is Sami Sherif.
My wife, Theodora (Teddy) Chitsiku, has been a registered nurse for 44 years. She gave all her life, care, and effort to helping tens of thousands of patients, and she spent most of her income helping hundreds of needy people in her original hometown in Africa.
She was struck down with a chance of colon/pancreas cancer. She had surgery at Stanford Medical Center in San Francisco, which went really badly, and has since then been in continuously deteriorating conditions. Almost 8 weeks have passed, and she is now still in Stanford Medical ICU, with loss of speech and movement and several serious infections in her blood and organs, after they already removed a big part of her colon, pancreas, and gall bladder.
Since most of her income over the years was going to help others, she was without any financial net worth. She adopted 6 nephews and nieces in Africa from the time they were born until they graduated from college.
Now in financial ruins with no income, and disability insurance is denied and we are still fighting for it. Her car will be repossessed, and we have mounting utility bills, medical bills, and credit bills. I am her husband with very limited means after I had two major surgeries myself in my stomach and my back.
She spent all her life giving to others, and where she worked for 23 years, coworkers and patients adored her as she always brought smiles to their faces.
She needs help to cover all the financial burdens that this catastrophe brought down on us.
Please also pray for her.
