Donate to support Family Caregiver Advocacy

Tax deductible
More and more people care for an ill or disabled family member or friend. Unfortunately, the health, wellbeing, and employment of these family caregivers and care partners is at risk.

Caregivers often experience depression, anxiety, injuries, poor sleep, become socially isolated, have an increased risk for heart attacks and strokes, and for using things like alcohol to cope. In other words: they're second-order patients. Many also go part-time or quit, lose their income and benefits, and often deplete their savings or go into debt. And they put their own health last.

The Difference Collaborative Alliance is a 501(c)3 non-profit working to address this growing crisis. We advocate for caregivers, and help employers and policy makers understand how caregiving puts the health, well-being, and ability of their employees to continue to work at risk. We want to shift caregiving from a problem that's hidden in plain sight to an opportunity to create caring cultures at work. Together, we can shift mindsets, reduce stigma and burnout, and realize better ways of working, living, and supporting one another.

We convene stakeholder summits, speak at national events and conduct research (recently published in Nursing Outlook on how nurses’ family caregiving impacts their health, wellbeing, attrition, burnout, and patient safety).

Most importantly, we want to help employers create caring cultures, design benefits and policies, and measure their impact to ensure people can care, work, and thrive.

Your donation will help us:
  • Participate in The 3rd International Symposium to Advance Total Worker Health, which invited us to be part of a panel on working and caregiving.
  • Help us make the short documentary Caregiver: A Love Story, available to symposium attendees and other employers.
  • Create a starter kit to help HR and leadership understand how caregiving impacts their organization and how they can start to address it.
  • Fund general operations so we can participate in national conversations and share our research and create open-source resources.
