Help My Family Rebuild After Tragic Trauma

My name is Tanea . Mother of 6!

I am raising funds for a fresh start for my family of seven. My children and I have endured years of domestic violence and I decided to flee for my children because I got tired of hiding it! It caused my oldest daughter to see our struggle and run away and start to sell herself at the age of 13 and we are now in urgent need of a safe, stable place to live, away from the danger that has followed us. We recently welcomed a newborn, and we are doing everything we can to provide a secure, loving home for all seven of us.

We are asking for support to cover a fresh start in our own place—rent, a security deposit, basic furnishings, and utilities so we can settle in without worrying about every bill. Beyond a roof over our heads, the money will help fund essential needs for healing and stability: medical care for the newborn, groceries for a growing family, clothes and school supplies for the kids, and therapy and counseling to begin repairing the emotional wounds caused by years of fear and instability.

One of the older children has been struggling with the weight of our family’s hardships. Our priority now is to bring them back into a stable home, with access to support, mentoring, and opportunities to rebuild their life in a healthy environment. We want to show them that a new start is possible—one built on safety, respect, and hope.

With a stable home and access to services, we will be better positioned to advocate for others facing similar situations, raise awareness about domestic violence, prostitution and runaways and support neighbors in need.

We are aiming to move into our own place by September 1, 2025. The path to securing a home has been challenging because my credit was severely affected when I fled a toxic situation. I am committed to rebuilding trust with the people and systems around us and will never repeat the past mistakes that put us in danger. Many landlords require a double security deposit when credit is limited or damaged, especially for a larger family and a 3-bedroom home. We are asking for support to cover that need so we can have a safe, stable space that fits our growing family.
