On August 21st, 2025, our lives and those of other families changed. Around 11:50 am, 7-8 unmarked SUVs pulled up to the La Cienga Car Wash. Out of those vehicles came about 8 ICE agents, who forcibly detained eight car wash workers, including our father, Erasto Flores Romero.
Erasto Flores Romero, our father, tried to leave the perimeter out of fear of being separated from his family. When two ICE agents caught up to him on the other side of the street and forcibly took him.
For over 20 years, Erasto has been a cherished and well-known community member of La Cienega/Mid City, as well as a longtime employee of La Cienega Car Wash. Our father is a hard-working, responsible, and humble man. He was our pillar to life; he encouraged us to strive for the best, and now we’re both college students, 17 and 19 years old, but since our father was taken from us, life has not been the same.
Our loving father was the sole provider for our family, always making sure we had food on the table and everything we needed for school. We can’t imagine our lives without him being with us. We ask our community to please share our story, to donate if you can, and to please support the other families that have been affected. Every amount, no matter how big or small, will help us cover the legal fees and support our family’s stability while we fight for his release. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone for the support and prayers during this uncertain and painful time.
