Hey friends and family -

This is Grant and I’d like your help. Baseball season is starting soon. Help me replace baseball equipment for those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires.

I have been praying for our friends in California and for those impacted by the devastation from the Los Angeles wildfires. I have been fortunate to get to play in California several times - most recently in August 2024 at the Area Code Games Underclass - so I hold a special place in my heart for California baseball.

Last night my mom asked me and my sisters what ONE item I would take if we found ourselves in that evacuation situation. It was a quick answer for me, my baseball glove.

I woke up inspired to do more than just pray - I want to collect and fundraise to help the baseball players in Los Angeles replace the baseball equipment that they lost to the fires. I cannot provide water to put out fires, but I’m starting the equipment drive by donating this water blue Rawlings infielders glove and several other items. I would love for you to join me. Together we can help our friends look forward to better days on the baseball field.

My mom and dad are helping me organize this effort. We will work with our baseball friends and contacts in California to get the equipment in the hands of those in need. We will use any funds collected to purchase new equipment for youth baseball players in and around Los Angeles. I am in the process of coordinating with equipment suppliers but welcome any ideas and donations.

The funds collected will be used to purchase new baseball equipment for youth players in LA who were impacted by the wildfires. Throughout my last few years of travel baseball I have met many baseball players from California and they are helping me make sure to get the needed equipment into the hands of the most at need. We will work directly with youth baseball leagues and little leagues to identify players with immediate needs and help gets bats, gloves, batting gloves and baseball equipment in their hands by the start of the spring season.

This is Emily Sperandio- Grant’s mom and I will be helping with the financial logistics. I will be transferring the generous donations from the fundraiser to the players in the impacted areas. We have been working with a high school and youth sports organization to help supplement the baseball and softball needs.
