Hello friends and family. As most of you know, Patrick had stage 3 rectal cancer. For those of you that didn't know, let me tell you the story. On November 1st 2024 Patrick was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer. He went through 12 weeks of chemotherapy followed by 6 weeks of radiation. On August 27th he underwent surgery to remove his colon which in turn ended up with a colostomy bag. 7 weeks after the surgery thinking we are cancer free we found three bumps the size of a pea. Patrick went back to the doctor and they ran bloodwork plus MRI's and PET scans. The outcome was not what we were praying for. The rectal cancer has moved to his lungs. We were told that he is stage 4 now. The doctor told us that they can't perform surgery due to the location of the cancer in the lungs. They told Patrick that he would be on chemo for the rest of his life and gave him a lifespan of 6 months to 3 years. This news was devastating. How do you process something like this? We feel absolutely lost but we are not going to give up. We will NOT let cancer win! We decided to call City of Hope in Georgia. We will be flying there to discuss options and treatment the week of December 8th. We are asking for donations for medial and living expenses as Patrick is unable to work and I am unable to pay for it all on my own. We don't want to lose our home. Anything will help.
