Empowering Future Leaders: Help Us Open Our First Afterschool Center in Abobo, Côte d’Ivoire
Campaign Overview
In Côte d'Ivoire, education remains a significant challenge. According to UNESCO, 9 out of 10 children in Africa cannot read and understand simple text by age 10. Our nonprofit, ELIM Excellence, is dedicated to empowering underprivileged children through life skills, vocational and leadership training, and educational support. We aim to improve their academic performance and help them become responsible leaders.
The Problem
Children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Côte d'Ivoire often have parents who earn less than $2.15 per day and cannot afford tutors. These children also face exposure to violence and addictions, which further hinders their education and development.
Our Solution
We plan to open an afterschool center in Abobo, Côte d'Ivoire, to support 100 children per year. This center will offer:
- Tutoring: Academic support in reading, writing, and math.
- Leadership Activities:** Programs to develop leadership skills and build confidence.
- STEM Activities: Hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Our Goal
We need $50,000 to launch this center, covering:
- Rent and utilities
- Educational materials and supplies
- Salaries for tutors and staff
- Program development
