Dear PS20 Family,

For years, I've been wanting to receive training to teach children's yoga, and this summer I am almost on my way there!

I love being the dance teacher for all 611 students in grades 3K-5th at PS20 Clinton Hill, Brooklyn!* I regularly incorporate asana, breathwork, meditation, and mindfulness into our weekly dance classes. My dance class is a retreat. We unplug and unwind from the busy-ness that is school and modern urban life. And I know it will be more powerful when I receive professional development with Little Flower Yoga. LFY has been serving NYC schools since 2006. I first met and practiced yoga with LFY trainers Jennifer, Mayuri, and Argos ten years ago, and I was supremely impressed by their wisdom and specific perspective on teaching yoga in NYC public schools. We have yoga mats and blocks ... now I just need training!

I will use the skills I learn in my daily teaching practice with our children. My intention is no less than revolution. My dancers will lead humanity into a generation of compassionate peacemakers and justice warriors. I don't take lightly the influence I have on thousands of children, whispering messages into their ears for 7 formative years of their life. In yoga, we practice nonviolence, self-improvement, compassion, and connecting to others and our authentic selves.

I request you mark your donations "anonymous." Although I want to show you all my appreciation individually, it will be more powerful (and safer legally) when I show my appreciation to all our children by showering them with my new skills.
