My name is Lauren, and I am a friend of Trevor Hicks. We became neighbors & friends about 5 years ago and he has always made our family smile. Trevor is the kind of guy that showed up at our front door (quickly moving to the sidewalk) to share a song on his guitar to brighten our long COVID days. He's always willing to help his family, friends & neighbors. Trevor and his wife, Heidi, have a little girl named Hope who is such a doll - total Daddy's girl!
As you may have heard, on December 5th, Trevor suffered two strokes caused by aneurysms in his arteries. After 2 CT scans and 2 MRI's, multiple labs & blood test, doctors have determined that Trevor has a rare disease called fibromuscular dysplasia. FMD affects about 1 in 200,000 people and is treatable but not curable. It causes Trevor's arteries to twist and restrict blood flow to his organs, causing pain in his head, limbs & abdomen. Trevor spent 4 days in this hospital but is now home - still in so much pain. His constant headaches and dizziness, mean little Hope is missing her playful daddy.
Trevor is an Education Coach and works with children & educators to make the classroom a safe and fun environment for learning and growing. This rare disease will take away Trevor's ability to work full-time and will likely cause him strokes in the future.
Doctors have determined that surgery is not an option right now so he has to heal from these strokes and see what happens in the uncertain future. If you know Trevor, his "get up and go" attitude makes being sick even harder.
Heidi & Trevor need our financial help to get them through this. Please help provide for Hope & their boys during this rough time.
Thank you!
