Please donate to help my Dad-Lung Cancer treatment

Hello, my name is Karen and I'm fundraising to help pay my father's cancer treatment / chemotherapy of his lung. My dad's name is Luis Atencio and he is 64 years old, lives in Maracaibo -Venezuela, and he was diagnosed with pneumonia on 8/25/2023 and since then it's being a roller coaster of emotions that also came along with a lot of bills to pay. He was hospitalized and treated that day at Clinico Hospital in Maracaibo and Dr. Orlando Nava (Pulmonologist) is taking care of him since then. As far as 9/8/2023 my dad had been through:

He was discharged on 9/2/23 and was sent home to recuperate from surgery and was told to keep the prescribed antibiotics, oxygen on and the drainage on. After certain time the antibiotic treatment ended, and we were just waiting for the intervention to happen.

On 9/11/23 my dad had the surgery (Thoracoscopy) in which the surgeon took a sample of lung tissue and pleura to study it and the results of this biopsy came along on 9/18/2023 and unfortunately the results were not as expected, we are now facing a new challenge called Cancer (Large cell undifferentiated carcinoma). My family got in touch to an Oncologist and he will guide us through new steps for my dad to follow and potentially new treatment for him (chemotherapy, radiotherapy), to get better.

My family and myself have been doing the impossible to get the money to pay for all of this and we are now at a point where it became a struggle and that's why I'm here asking for a kind gesture from you to help us pay for this new diagnose and so my father can breathe on his own again and be able to continue living a happy and healthy life along with my mom, who has being beside him through all this process, and in a near future my brother and I be able to see him and hug him after 4 years of being apart and meet my daughter and nephew Ian and Amelia (1-2 years old) for the first time.

Hola, mi nombre es Karen y estoy recaudando fondos para ayudar a pagar el tratamiento contra el cáncer de pulmón de mi padre. Mi papá se llama Luis Atencio y tiene 64 años, vive en Maracaibo -Venezuela, le diagnosticaron neumonía el 25/8/2023 y desde entonces está siendo una montaña rusa de emociones que también vino acompañada de muchas facturas a pagar. Fue hospitalizado y atendido ese día en el Hospital Clínico de Maracaibo y el Dr. Orlando Nava (Neumólogo) lo atiende desde entonces. Hasta el 8/9/2023 mi papá ha pasado por:

Fue dado de alta el 2/9/23 y lo enviaron a casa para recuperarse de la cirugía y le dijeron que mantuviera los antibióticos recetados, el oxígeno y el drenaje puestos. Después de cierto tiempo terminó el tratamiento antibiótico y solo estábamos esperando que se produjera la intervención.

El 11/09/23 mi papá se sometió a la cirugía (Toracoscopia) en la que el cirujano tomó una muestra de tejido pulmonar y pleura para estudiarlo y los resultados de esta biopsia llegaron el 18/09/2023 y lamentablemente los resultados no fueron como era de esperar, ahora nos enfrentamos a un nuevo reto llamado Cáncer (carcinoma indiferenciado de células grandes). Mi familia se puso en contacto con un oncólogo y él nos guiará a través de nuevos pasos a seguir para mi papá y potencialmente nuevos tratamientos para él (quimioterapia, radioterapia) para mejorar.

Mi familia y yo hemos estado haciendo lo imposible para conseguir el dinero para pagar todo esto y ahora estamos en un punto donde se convirtió en una lucha y es por esta razon estoy aquí pidiendo un gesto amable de tu parte para ayudarnos con tu contribucion a costear este nuevo diagnóstico y para que mi padre pueda volver a respirar por sí solo y poder seguir viviendo una vida feliz y saludable junto a mi mamá y hermana, quienes han estado a su lado durante todo este proceso, y en un futuro cercano mi hermano y yo podamos verlo y abrazarlo nuevamente después de 4 años de estar separados y que pueda conocer a mi hija y a mi sobrino Ian y Amelia (1-2 años) por primera vez.
