Hi, I'm Alyssa. I'm 36 and I've been on dialysis since I was 28.

I wish I never had to do another day of dialysis, but I can't get a kidney until 1. I fix my teeth and 2. I find a donor. Fixing my teeth costs a lot of money that I do not have. My insurance will pay for 1/4 of the cost, but that's not that much. I just want to be able to drink as much water as I want without worrying about the consequences. I want to take a nice long shower. I want to be able to get in a pool or go to the river again. I want to be able to go on trips with my boyfriend and not worry about dialysis. I can't go or do anything I really want to. I want to be able to pee. I know that sounds so stupid and simple, but when you haven't gone in 8 years, it's just the simplest things you miss. I want my niece and nephew to have a fun aunt who's not always tired and sleeping. There's just so much that kidney failure doesn't allow me to do. But thank you to my boyfriend Eddie for always being there for me when I need him. I love you so much, Eddie. I'm not someone who would ask for money, but I'm tired of doing this every day, so if you can donate anything, that would be amazing, and I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.
