Donate to help Linda get through Chemotherapy!

Hi, our names are Colleen and Laura. We are starting a GoFundMe page on behalf of our amazing coworker and friend Linda Mumaugh. Linda is an incredible social worker and all around awesome human being, and she has had a very challenging past few years.

She was diagnosed in 2019 with multiple myeloma. She underwent chemotherapy and an autogolous stem cell transplant to treat her myeloma, however it left her with permanent kidney failure and the need for continued hemodialysis, which she continues now three times a week. Linda was hopeful to be able to remain healthy enough to eventually get on a kidney transplant list, when last month she found out the news that she now has breast cancer.

Given the nature of multiple myeloma, Linda has also remained on maintenance chemotherapy treatments every other week, which now are on pause as she begins chemotherapy for her breast cancer. Through all of her treatments for her multiple myeloma, she continues to work as a hospice and palliative care social worker, helping the sickest and most vulnerable patients in our healthcare system.

Her breast cancer treatment plan will include 3-4 months of chemotherapy with radiation as well. Given her anticipated immunocompromised state, and the fact that she works in a hospital every day, it has been recommended by her oncology team that she take a leave of absence from work while she receives treatment for her breast cancer.

This means that once Linda has exhausted her PTO, she and her husband Doug will be without their normal income stream for a good portion of that time. This is where you come in! We are asking for any donation possible to help Linda and Doug get through this difficult time, so they don’t have to worry about how their bills are going to be paid.

We both have been lucky enough to work alongside Linda now for years, and despite every challenge that life has thrown at her, she continues to come to work with a smile on her face, and a passion for helping others. Lets show Linda the love and support she deserves while she navigates this uncertain time.
