Hi, my name is Tobias. I am 14 yrs old and in yr 9 at school.

I have been given a once in a lifetime opportunity with Camp International, to do a 4 week working expedition to Kenya in the Summer of 2026

I have to fundraise the cost of the trip myself!! 41% of the money will go towards the trip and the company creating a safe expedition for us. 38% goes directly to the community we are working with and the sustainable community, wildlife and environmental projects. 21% goes towards running costs

What will I be doing?

I will be living in a camp in the village that we are working and there are different projects that we will be doing to help the community we are going to be living in:

building desks for children who may normally have to sit on the floor to learn
building classrooms to provide a safe place from children to learn
digging elephant watering holes to help the elephants survive the winter
making ethical elephant detergents to protect the local crops
goat de-worming (we have the catch the goats first!)
rhino sanctuary maintenance work
installing fresh water tanks at the schools and in the villages to give the local villagers access to clean safe water

I will get some down time and hope to go on safari, climb Mt Kenya, Mt Meru or Kilimanjaro, play football with the local children, learn some Swahili and teach the locals some English, and hopefully get to swim in the Indian Ocean for a wash after work!

It’s a big amount I have to raise £4500 so I am breaking it down to find ways to be able to fund the trip

I will selling my old clothes online and at car boots, I will be doing some sponsored events over the next year and, I’m really hopeful that there may be some companies kind enough to sponsor me where I would agree to provide advertisement for the company in return.

Mom says I need to break it down into smaller chunks so it seems more achievable and says it’s just a tenner from 450 people!! So…. if you think that this is a good cause and you are in any way able to be one of those 450 people I would be really greatful.
