20,000,000 Meals Delivered Locally!

Founded in 2008 by local North Carolina residents Don and Kristy Milholin, Out of Garden Project (OOTGP) operates various distribution sites across Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem providing fresh produce, pantry staples, and nutritious meals to individuals and families facing food insecurity. Donations help ensure a steady supply of food to meet the growing demand and reach vulnerable populations. Since its humble beginnings, Out of the Garden Project has become the largest independent food non-profit in the Piedmont of North Carolina, and has grown to distribute over 20 million meals to local families in the Piedmont Triad celebrating 15 years of service. Along with food recovery, other food is donated through businesses like Triad Goodwill, which has donations boxes for OOTGP in 25 of their Goodwill Stores, as well as other public and private donations. OOTGP also receives a small monthly amount of food through The Emergency Food Assistance Program or TEFAP. All families that are served through these programs generally qualify at or below the poverty line.

Fresh Mobile Markets: Out of Garden Project's mobile pantry program brings food directly to underserved neighborhoods and rural areas, where access to grocery stores and fresh food is limited. Donations enable the expansion of this program, ensuring that nutritious food reaches those who need it the most.

Education and Empowerment: Out of Garden Project goes beyond food provision by offering educational resources and skill-building workshops to empower individuals and families to improve their long-term food security. Donations support the development of educational materials and the implementation of programs that promote self-sufficiency.

Volunteer Engagement: Out of Garden Project relies heavily on dedicated volunteers who generously donate their time and energy to help with food distribution, community events, and advocacy efforts. Donations contribute to volunteer recruitment, training, and support, allowing OOTGP to maintain a strong volunteer network and expand its reach.

Collaborations and Partnerships: Out of Garden Project collaborates with local businesses, community organizations, and government agencies to maximize its impact. Donations facilitate the establishment of meaningful partnerships, enabling OOTGP to leverage shared resources and expertise to combat food insecurity more effectively.

Will you financially support us and donate to help us continue to feed 20,000,000 more North Carolina Families?

With gratitude,

Don and Kristy
