Hi! my name is Sarah and I’m raising funds for my cousin, Brittany Curry, is 32 years old. She has a husband, Lee, and 5-year old daughter, Francesca. She recently was diagnosed with HER2 Positive breast cancer and had her first chemo treatment on 06/03/22. As things currently stand, depending on how she responds to treatment, she is scheduled to have a total of 6 chemo treatments 3 weeks apart each, followed by a double mastectomy and then eventually reconstructive surgery.

 

Both Brittany and Lee were employed, but Brittany has had to quit her job while going through these treatments due to the need to avoid as much potential contagion as possible while her immune system is compromised. Additionally, she has been epileptic from age 16. She has not had a seizure since 2019, but five days after her first chemo treatment she had 2 grand mal seizures in one day and had to go to the hospital.

 

Lee has already used up all of his paid leave due to the initial medical appointments and their budget is now extremely tight, with prices going up more and more. Brittany’s parents, Mark and Cathy Bologna- Averett, are helping them as much as they can, but do not have the means to meet all of their expenses for the next year until Brittany has completed all of her treatment and can return to work.
