Donate to Donnie's Life-Saving Treatment Journey

Cancer a word no one likes to hear. Many remember Donnie's journey with Cancer the first time, which started in December of 2023. At the end of that journey he was in remission, which was a joyous outcome. We felt that he had been declared the winner over the cancer. But in the beginning of January 2025 our biggest nightmare came true, he was diagnosed with yet another brain tumor. He was once again air lifted to Fairview; this one was located in Edina Minnesota. They operated to remove most of the tumor but were unable to get the whole thing. Between the hospital stay and rehab, Donnie was almost hospitalized the whole month of January. After all that Donnie met with the oncologist to see what the treatment plan would be. Since surgery was only able to remove some of the tumor, cancer cells were still very much present in his body.

With him being diagnosed with CNS lymphoma, which is very aggressive rare cancer. he was to start chemo as soon as possible; he has been doing chemo treatments since the beginning of March and suspected to be continued until the end of May. He recently had a MRI done to give us a view if the treatment was helping, and excitingly it is! This has made Donnie a candidate for a Bone Marrow transplant, which should hopefully start sometime in the beginning of June. The plan that has been laid out so far would be a week admitted for them to collect the T cells, then freeze the T cells. He will be him readmitted for high doses of chemo to kill off any cancer cells that are left. Then they will introduce the T cells back into his body. Which would be roughly a three weeks stay in the hospital. Following the procedure if all goes well, he will have to stay locally in Fargo to be near the Cancer Center in case of complications. Will keep everyone updated with any updates in the coming weeks and months.
