Donate to Aid Vivian's Family After Tragic Fire
Donation protected
Two days after Christmas, one of my closest friends was woken by the smell of smoke at 5:00 am. She had 5 minutes to realize what was going on and to get out safely. At this time, we are unsure what caused the fire, but the theory right now is faulty wiring. In just minutes, Vivian lost everything she and her family owned. It wasn’t until later in the afternoon, Vivian showed up on my doorstep covered in soot with burns on her forehead and wrists to share her story.
Vivian is one of the most kind-hearted people I know. She’s dedicated herself to rescuing the wild cats around her, making sure they get spayed/neutered and given shots, paying for their supplies through the crafts she makes. As part of the Civil Air Patrol along with her son, she has become a huge supporter and volunteer for an organization that helps our community’s youth grow. She is also the first to offer her help to anyone who needs it.
Now, Vivian is lost after her home went up in flames, killing at least 2 of her rescued cats. (3 cats are still missing and presumed dead.) She and her family are currently living in a tent on the property in an effort to find the rest of the cats while they also wait on emergency services and insurance. She is using donated items from friends and neighbors, including a borrowed phone, clothes, blankets, etc.
I am starting this GoFundMe in an effort to help her regain some of what she lost as well as keep her going with food, shelter, fresh water, and other things needed. Vivian is like family to me, and with her current lack of technology and the fact she lived in a rural area with poor service, I’ve dedicated my own time to help her find the resources and help she needs.
