Donate in memory of a mother, daughter, woman

Hello, my name is Ana, and I'm currently fundraising to cover the funeral and repatriation costs of my mom, Sandra.

Saying that my mom was the best mom ever is cliché, I know, but she really was. She was the best mom, daughter, sister and friend who, sadly, became a victim of femicide caused by her husband/my dad on March 1st 2023.

We're currently in London, but I'm working on reuniting her with our family in Colombia, where we're from, so we can all say goodbye to her in the way my mom deserves it: in the Colombian mountains, filled with her love, joy and courage.

I never imagined writing this. She'd never allow me. But dying is incredibly and unfairly expensive, especially if it happens far from your homeland and the people who love you the most. These funds will help me to cover the funeral costs and fly to Colombia with her.

I hope this story somehow touched your heart not only to contribute financially (if you can) but to raise awareness of how domestic violence can affect anyone. The famous words "that would never happen" one day becomes a reality among many families across the globe despite the colour, culture, language, status and education.

Raise your kids with the courage and awareness to identify and step out from violent relationships, but mostly, raise your kids with the love and understanding to not become a perpetrator. As victims, we can't do this by ourselves.
