Donate for Lianna's Medical Expenses

My daughter Lianna is 13 years old and was recently hospitalized with meningitis. She stayed in the hospital for two weeks to receive an aggressive IV treatment. Meanwhile doctors tried to find out what caused the meningitis by means of a spinal tap. Lianna went through 4 unsuccessful spinal taps. Unfortunately, they were unable to extract spinal fluid from the area where it’s normally located. As stressful as it was, thankfully she was able to stay strong and keep a positive attitude. We had an outpour of support, so many friends called, texted and visited the hospital every day. There wasn’t a day that we were alone. I am so grateful for everyone who showed their love, generosity and included Lianna and our family in their prayers while she was in the hospital.

Ultimately, the children’s hospital referred us to a neurosurgeon. Our hope was to find out why they couldn’t extract spinal fluid but never did we think the diagnosis would be this serious. The MRI results of her spine showed that she has a congenital tethered spinal cord. Along with that she also has other specified congenital malformations of the spinal cord that need attention. With that being said, Lianna is scheduled to have spinal surgery in early August in San Antonio, Tx. She is expected to have a short hospital stay while in recovery.

We’re extremely grateful for any and all help as we take the necessary steps forward in this medical journey. (2 Corinthians 9: 7 )
