I truly hate doing this. However, this is my only chance of getting a wheelchair that’s in better condition. I’m a school teacher and coach in NC, and our new health insurance provider has denied my appeal for a wheelchair 3 times. I’ve been in a wheelchair for 32 years, and I’ve been in my current chair for 9 years... the picture in the photo is my current chair. It has been through a lot and is literally held together with duct tape.

My wheelchair provider has been unbelievably generous and is offering me a fairly new chair for $12,500. These electric wheelchairs usually cost somewhere near $40,000. I have run out of options.

Every cent raised over the cost will be donated to individuals who are having the same difficulties with purchasing medical equipment.
