D.M.T.A. Records is a record label based out of Pinellas County, Florida that utilizes a non-profit record production; local bands and artists only pay for the cost of materials/per X amount of records.

Do you want to have your band, side project, or well, basically anything, on some records? Contact us to join the waiting list today, and become a future sound of D.M.T.A.!

If you want records for your own sale/usage, bands pay for the cost of materials/per record. We can arrange for pickup or artists can pay for shipping if necessary. (Limited QTYs based on recording length + deadlines.)

If you want records made to be sold at D.M.T.A. tables, bands pay materials/per record as well as a legacy crate fee**/per event to stock up to a certain number of records (depending on crate size). We will contact you when we have an upcoming event (if you have records already made and in D.M.T.A.'s stock) and you will be able to pick & pay your crate fees and have your records out for that event. If you do not want to pay a crate fee for an event, your records will not be stocked that day.

Artists price their own records, and must provide at least 2 forms of electronic payment options to be displayed on their crates (Venmo, Cashapp, Zelle, etc.)

All record sales must go directly to the artists. D.M.T.A. Records cannot accept cash for records or pass on any payments to bands. We take no cut of record sales.

Our primary lathe is from the 1940s, so expect 1940s sound quality; that old fuzzy charm is half the point. Your records could be made of polycarbonate, PVC, recycled vinyl, CDs, recycled polystyrene (ex. crushed coffee cup lids), other experimental materials, & more!

Records are records, not the harmful material they are historically created from. While we work to produce entirely with recycled records, our goal is to have our record production eventually include no vinyl whatsoever- repurposing plastic is a temporary solution to a permanent problem. We have to find an alternative. Vinyl and other plastics have been used recklessly in the creation of music & art over the last few generations. As a label and as humans we recognize this practice has been abused far beyond the time to change. Past reasonings cannot validate present ignorance: polyvinyl chloride should not be used in records or anything else.

YOU CAN HELP. Call records what they are instead of what they're made of (records≠vinyl) & avoid continuing outdated practices while bringing attention to them by using repurposed. Invest yourself by listening to experimental prototype records and inspire smarter people than us to create viable industry-breaking alternatives that are equal to if not better at retaining sound than industrial pressed vinyl records- CHANGE THE MAINSTREAM.

All proceeds of this fundraiser go towards the purchase of a second (and eventual 3rd) old school record cutter to help meet demand (likely a different but equally as charming model to accompany the Presto K-8 that we currently own and love).
