As I sit here trying to write my "gofundme" introduction, I’m thinking about how I got here. And if I think about the last 15 years and the life I’ve had, in spite of where I am now, it’s all been a good one.

My need is to collect enough money to pay last year’s rent, which is just under $14K ($1166 per mo). You ask Marg, how the heck did you end up in this situation? As uncomfortable as it is to admit, and as foolish as it sounds, I used so much money (my retirement fund) to take care of Zeus, I left myself totally unprepared for my future.  In  August 2016, I had major surgery which revealed I was in a bout with a very aggressive Cancer which incapacitated me. The Chemotherapy and Oncologist, then the Radiation and other Oncologist bills arrived and I was a whirling dervish. Sadly my Medicare only covers 80%, I was responsible for the balances. The costs were well over a few thousand dollars for those medical expenses. Now there is the ongoing blood work, body scans and doctors. Also, I've been living with breast cancer since 2002, which requires 2 tests per year and biopsies.

So I have drained the well of $$$$, and I am needy and I am scared.  The last thing I want to do is get evicted from my 27 year home that I love. Most of you know I was an expat for years living abroad.  This however put me in a precarious situation as my social security was not paid into.  I am living on a very rigid fixed income now.

I need help; I don’t need to say more. I am humbled to have to ask. Nevertheless I am grateful and happy.
I can pay off my balance one month at a time. My hope is to show good intent.
