New Mayapur has been a home of Srila Prabhupada since the mid 1970's. A beautiful castle built in the late 1900's it is now the temple for the exquisite deites Sri Sri Gaura Nitai, Sri Sri Krishna Balarama and Sri Sri Radha Govinda Madhava.
Krishna Balarama were personally installed by Srila Prabhupada and to this day many devotees still come to New Mayapur for Balarama Jayanti.
On the large 100 acres that surrounds new mayapur, devotees, though few in number, are endeavouring to maintain a compassionate Care for Cows program. Currently only 3 cows and 2 bulls live on the property. One cow, Ganga, provides milk for the deities every day and she has never had a calf.
Unfortunately today new mayapur is struggling with a shortage of devotees and an increase of demand from land and building. So much money has already been spent on renovations to fix the roof just to keep the structure strong so that the temple will survive for many more years, but all over the property so much work needs to be done.
The devotees have become committed to increase their prasadam distribution to provide both a source of income for the temple and to increase the preaching across France. By distributing prasadam they hope to remind the French public that devotees provide food that's not just satisfying to the tongue but nourishing to the soul. Already devotees from new mayapur go out to markets twice a week distributing a full meal or rice, subji and koftas with some success.
We are asking for your help. There is a plan to purchase a van which can become a moving kitchen. With this van devotees can go to countless music festivals and public events to distribute prasadam. This will enable new mayapur to have a steady income that will allow for growth and strength within the community. It can open the door for more grihasthas to live on the property, provide money to support the goshalla, maintain the building, even improve the festivals on new mayapur.
We have started a GoFundMe page and are asking all devotees who are able to please support this cause. If many devotees donate the required funds to purchase and renovate the moving kitchen will very quickly be obtained.
