Diaper Tales Infrastructure

Donation protected
We are generating funds to create the infrastructure at our new location to run our commercial laundry. We provide cloth diaper service for our communities.

The need is urgent as we are currently having to wash at  local laundromats which is expensive and not as effective. The funds will be used to add electrical outlets, a larger water supply, a larger drain, and a larger water heater sufficient to support our commercial washers and dryers.  Any remaining funds will go toward building our inventory of diapers so that we are able to provide service to more families.

We made the choice to move our facilities due to changes in the Corvallis municipal plumbing codes requiring us to invest a significant amount in our previously leased building.  We chose instead to relocate to an insulated warehouse in Albany Oregon with 4 times the space and less expense per square foot.  Our new location will require some modifications but not as much as the previous location.  We have also experienced some difficulty finding plumbers willing to do the work.  One plumber was willing to help at one point but would not schedule anything because they were unable to get the proper supplies due the global shipping challenges.  We have an appointment on 1/18/22 with another plumber.

We are committed to providing sustainable diapering solutions, reducing the volume and impact of global micro-plastic pollution and at the same time reducing diaper need.  One out of three families in Oregon experience diaper need.

I am Julianna Elligsen, Mom of 4, Fairy Cloth Mama. My husband Colin and I participate in a project or "Game In The World", creating Love, Ease and Freedom around cloth diapering babies.

I've been sharing my love of cloth diapers with the Corvallis Community since 1997.  That is when I bought Replay, a small children's resale store, next door to Second Glance.  I bought it to Be with my children, and make to money to support my growing family.  I discovered that I loved being in Community!  We served over 2000 families, when I sold to Mother Goose Corvallis in 2012.

In June, 2015, I ran into Holly Canon, who owned Baby Go Lucky diaper service.  I asked if we could collaborate on my project cloth diapering low income families.  She said she was going to sell, and I immediately said I was going to buy it! I renamed the service Diaper Tails, now rebranded as Diaper Tales.  Because its about the stories! I will never stop talking about the peace of mind and security cloth diapers have provided for my life, and in the lives of others.

With a nice increase in customers recently we are in the position to expand both in customers and in profitability.  At the same time, in December, we took note that 20% of our families are low income and are paying at discounted rate.

Diaper Tales collects a wide range of cloth diapers that we call the Community Stash. Diapers Tales washes, and delivers these diapers from door to door.  The Freedom and Ease we provide is Palpable.  It is inspiring, to see the living list of families that have reserved their spot for future service! We MUST build the proper infrastructure to expand our reach.

The difference we make for families, will alter Oregon's statistics by reducing household waste, landfill volume,  micro-plastic waste,  and diaper need.

We provide service to Portland, down the Willamette valley to Cottage Grove, and to Bend.

Lets exponentially expand doing good work in our communities for babies!!!!

For Love, Ease, and Freedom!!!
