Dialysis Treatment for Cafe Roze Team Member

Jesus (Chuy) has been an integral member of the Roze family for years.

His positive attitude is a beacon of light in our restaurant and for our team members.

He works 2 full-time jobs to support his family and always comes to work with a smile on his face.

Chuy is the kind of guy that champions people. He has an infectious energy that can brighten up the darkest days for his friends and co-workers.

Chances are if you've dined with us, you've enjoyed a meal prepared by his hands.

He takes a lot of pride in everything he prepares and puts a lot of love into every dish.

He's passionate about what he does and loves that he gets to serve our community every day.

On Valentine's weekend, he was complaining of back pain. A few days later he went to the hospital and found out his kidneys were failing and only operating at 6%.

We were shocked by this news since Chuy is a very healthy person. He doesn't drink, smoke, or eat red meat!

As a child, he had an infection that caused lasting damage to his kidneys that doctors didn't catch until now.

After 2 procedures, the team of medical professionals was able to stabilize him. However, due to his severe condition, he will have to have dialysis treatments twice a week for the rest of his life. This is an extremely expensive medical treatment.

We care deeply for Chuy and are heartbroken that such a terrible thing has happened to such a beautiful person.
