As you may (or may not?) know, Devin and Sam are expecting a baby (!!!) on November 1st and are well underway preparing the perfect baby-supporting space (physically & emotionally) one can dream up.
Knowing Dev & Sam you're probably thinking, "what on earth would they have to do differently? They're the dreamiest of dream teams the universe could possibly bring together to co-create a human being!"
First off, you're right. When you're lost in the news or US politics, please just remember a super-human is entering the world in 2 months. But also, there is one thing they'd like to offer this baby that $finances$ are making difficult, and that's an entry into planet earth from planet Devin through a H O M E - B I R T H.
I've spoken with Dev recently about her deep desire for a home-birth and her unwavering trust and confidence in herself and in her body to do-the-damn-thing via birthing in the place she feels most at ease. HOWEVER, the home-birth, with all it's safety prerequisites and so on and so forth is PRICEY, Y'ALL. We're talking $3000 pricey. So that's chill.
When I spoke to Devin about her and Sam's wishes for a baby shower/gifts/etc, they were like, "are you crazy? We have everything we need!" Thus, I think a community-supported contribution to make the homebirth REAL is the perfect gift for them and something that is for both child, mama and papa. IT'S INCLUSIVE, Y'ALL.
Listen, I know times are tough, money is tight and avocados are and will forever be a priority. Please know & trust that anything you can offer is appreciated, even if it's a "wish I could, but I can't".
I love you all and I'm so excited to collectively give Sam & Dev & BlessedBaby(TM) the community gift of their dreams.
