Deus Twinomugisha
Spende geschützt
My name is Madi and I am fundraising to help support Twino Deus. I first met Deus in 2018 in Uganda while working for Global Emergency Care (https://globalemergencycare.org/about/). Deus was one of the first graduates of the program and worked as an emergency care practitioner and trainer. Through this program, Dues provided emergency medical care to regions of Uganda that otherwise would not have access. However, due to budget cuts, they had to reduce their number of providers and he lost his job. He is on the waitlist to be rehired if the organization receives more funds. Deus was able to find a job with the UN but his contract ended on July 3 so now he is currently unemployed applying for jobs in an ambulance and other healthcare facilities.
Unfortunately, Deus' 47-year-old mother suffered a stroke and has been in the ICU for over 2 weeks. The cost per day of being in the hospital (without any medications, procedures, studies or interventions) is $83. His bills are currently over $3,000 and it does not seem his mother will be released from the hospital anytime soon.
Deus, currently unemployed, remains the primary breadwinner in his family and supports his wife and small child as well as many of his 6 siblings and now his mother. His father is doing what he can but works as a motorcycle taxi driver and makes $5.50 per day.
Deus is a kind and hardworking proud man. He overcame his pride to ask me for help. Anything you can donate is appreciated and I hope we can take a little burden off of this kind and generous man.
August 31st update: Deus' mom is slowly being weaned off the ventilator. However, I was just notified that Deus' 20-month-old was killed in a bus accident. This is too much tragedy for one family and our hearts are with them.
