Desmond Sullivan Scholarship for True Journalism Heroes

Desmond Sullivan, died on 10th June 2024, 10 months into his hundredth year

In memory of his life and particularly his work as a journalist in Jerusalem, speaking the truth and standing up to injustice, and in memory of the hundreds of Palestinian journalists killed in Gaza, we are establishing a scholarship endowment fund at Birzeit university in Palestine

The scholarship will help fund the tuition fees for young underprivileged students from across Palestine to study media journalism and continue the legacy of True Journalism Heroes - speaking the truth and standing up to injustice

Donations here will be transferred via bank to Birzeit University where they will form an endowment fund. The investment returns from the endowment are used to provide scholarships each year, so that your donation continues to have a positive impact in perpetuity
