Decent farewell to Covid-19 victims

Namaste/Hello everyone,

I am Govind Raja Pappala (Birmingham, UK), I want to introduce to you a very special and inspiring youngster Bharat Raghav Mallisetti (27-year-old) who has come forward to perform the last rites for deceased bodies during pandemic in and around Rajahmundry (Andhra Pradesh, India) with his team.

During this unpredictable and strange COVID time, when no one is stepping forward to even touch the Covid-19 infected victims he cremated almost 187+ bodies on his own expenses until now.

Bharat is reluctant to accept any financial support initially. However, as an extended family we convinced him that our little financial support could help him extend his support to many others.

Initially, myself and my brother-in-law’s Viswanath Nukala (Birmingham, UK), Venkateswara Rao Thota (Konda babu-Rajahmundry) & my brother Bharath Kumar Pappala (Bangalore) as a family decided to support this noble cause that Bharat started. Respecting his selfless contribution, some of my friends personally called me and advised me to create a fund-raising link to support this humble cause initiated by Bharat and his team.

Bharat's inspiration (in his own words):

“When I was in college, my father died of illness in Visakhapatnam and we did not have money to shift the body to Rajahmundy (AP) and had to keep the body for one full day. It was then that I decided that the deceased need a dignified farewell and started helping those families who can’t afford it”.

About Bharat:

Bharat comes from a middle-class family. In spite of the stressful financial conditions after his father’s death, he pursued MBA in open university distance education. As an elder son, he took the family responsibility. Now he owns goods vans for livelihood. He is married and has two daughters.

With the little saving from his moderate income, he supports the needy people and gives a dignified farewell to the deceased.

So please support Bharath and his team in this amazing, selfless noble humanitarian service.

How we can help :

We are planning to help him by supplying the below items:

- PPE kits

- Masks

- Gloves

- Face shields

- Rapid test kits

- Medical Supplies

- Vehicle maintained and Fuel expenses

- Oxygen cylinders/flow meters for needy people.

- Oxygen concentrators

- Setting/converting up our own vehicle in Rajahmundry as an ambulance with required equipment for life saving to move the needy people in emergency on free of cost.

- Maintenance cost for the vehicle.
