Debra Logie Medical Expenses
Spende geschützt
In the beginning of July 2019 my mother, Debra Logie was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. Once this was found she followed up with her doctors and went in for surgery to have a coil and stint put in. While they were fixing the one aneurysm they found a second aneurysm and were able to fix that one as well. She was in the ICU for 3 days and the doctors sent her home. July 20th 2019 she woke up feeling refreshed and bit better, she expressed this to her husband as she she sat down on the couch and that was the last time my mother would have a normal day. My stepfather called me that Saturday morning telling me that the ambulance is taking my mother to South Buffalo Mercy Hospital, that is where we found out she had suffered from a massive stoke on the left side of her brain. The doctors explained that her body had rejected the stint they put in and a blood clot got stuck at the bottom of the stint. After 3 days of being back in the ICU the doctors sat my step father , brother and myself down and explained to us that the swelling in her brain is not going down and they gave us 2 choices have her go under brain surgery to remove the left portion of her skull to relieve pressure this surgery would of course come with major risks the could result in death or we could take some time and wait to see if a certain medication would help the swelling go down. The doctors were not optimistic she would live much longer if the swelling didn't subside they gave her a 10% chance of getting out of the ICU and even if she did get out of the ICU she would would be paralyzed on her right side and would not be able to walk or talk. What these doctors didn't know is my mother is a fighter and wasn't about to give up each day that passed we seen more signs of improvement! So much so that they have moved her out of the ICU and on to the stroke rehab floor, where she is now going to be going through therapy to learn how to walk and talk again. My mother is just 61 years old who had no sights of retiring, loved working full time and just got married last year to the love of her life after 13 years together, she has grandchildren that just adore her (they call her Baba.) If /when she is able to come home she will need in home care along with other medical devices. Her insurance company is putting up a fight so with that will come exponential medical expenses, your donation to my family will help us cover the costs of the medical bills present and future. We are eternally grateful and blessed for your contribution.
