Debby Ryan's Road To Recovery

On January 11th, Debby collapsed at home and was taken by ambulance to the emergency room. She was diagnosed with septic shock, acute kidney failure, acute lung failure and severe pneumonia. In the ICU and unable to breathe on her own, she received a tracheostomy with her breathing controlled by a ventilator. She was in a coma and on life support for over a week.
Because of the damage caused by the septic shock and related infections, Debby was in isolation and became immobile. After a month in the ICU, Debby was transferred to a long-term ICU hospital to begin weaning off the ventilator. With her strength and fight ever present, she met her daily goals for ventilator weaning and has recently began physical therapy. She is expected to be released from the hospital soon and will be transferred to a rehabilitation center where she will continue to work on exercises to be able to swallow, eat, drink, sit unassisted, stand, and learn to walk again.
Always being a care taker to others, Debby is now the one in need of care. She is a selfless friend, wife, mother and grandmother who has been given a second chance at life.
Debby is self-employed and not sure when she will be able to return to work. While we feel nothing but blessed for Debby's recovery, the medical bills are just beginning to come in. This page has been set up asking for contributions to help put a dent in Debby's medical recovery fund. No amount is too small and every contribution is appreciated.
The family is grateful every day for Debby's survival and recovery. Debby is hopeful and working hard every day to return to her new home, family and the many things in her life that she has to look forward to.
