My Nephew Dawson - A 13-year-old Taconic Hills student was killed Thursday night in a two-car accident that injured five others,
Dawson Stallman died from injuries sustained in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
A 2015 Subaru Crosstek driven by Judith Gagliardi, 74, of Chatham, was traveling south on Route 9 at about 10:30 p.m. when the driver made a left turn onto county Route 28. Taconic Hills Central School District Superintendent Neil Howard said Dawson was a student at Taconic Hills Junior/Senior High School.
Several people were trapped in one of the vehicles after the crash, while the other vehicle was engulfed in flames, according to Columbia County 911 officials.
Gagliardi and her passenger, Wilma Westover, of Niverville, were taken to Albany Medical Center, as were Preuss and her passengers, Sabrina Martinez, 17, and David Zukowski, 28, both of Philmont, according to state police.One of the injured people in the crash was airlifted to hospital. As of 2:30 p.m. Friday, Preuss was in critical condition, Martinez was in serious condition
