Volunteer Trip to Honduras
Donation protected
My colleagues and I have decided to take a seven-day service trip to a remote village in Honduras called Nueva Armenia. It is a very poor coastal town that brings in the majority of its income through fishing alone. Their conditions are less than ideal. Due to the extreme circumstances they are not able to cross over many of the hurdles to help their community advance and rise above the poverty. When asked what would be the most help to them, the community leaders responded in a way that surprised us all. The way we would be most helpful would be to clean up and clear their channels and streams that are so desperately needed to help their fishing businesses survive. Picture a bunch of guys usually fitted in nice suits digging through murky water and overgrown brush. However, we are excited to serve their community and meet the needs of the people there.
In order to accomplish this, I need your help. We are raising money for this project and would like you to consider giving. We are partnering with an organization called Signs of Love. They are based in Honduras where they do outreach to the deaf community who are often times marginalized by society. They have been in contact with the community leaders in Nueva Armenia and will be overseeing the project. Here are some of the details.
