David Patane's Medical Expenses

Hi friends,

My name is Carrie Patane, and Dave is my "little" brother. I like to tease him, like any sister teases their brother, but not today. Today, I'm pushing him out of his comfort zone and am shining a spotlight on him because he needs our help. You see, David is an outdoorsman who grew up in Hannibal, the son of Sam and Val Patane, and the brother of my husband, Mike. Dave is known to be a quiet and generous soul, who would do ANYTHING for anyone and would NEVER expect anything in return. If you know him, you know that he won't EVER ask for help, even when he needs it. He wouldn't ever want to be an inconvenience to anyone, but this time, he will have to accept our help because he requires it more than ever.

 

Last month, Dave experienced a horrific auto accident in Fulton that left him paralyzed from the waist down. He had to undergo a complicated surgery on his back so he will be able to sit up and was recently sent to Schenectady for rehab. Hopefully, he will be coming home by the end of Summer. Unfortunately, Dave will have HUGE medical expenses to pay once he returns, AND his home needs several modifications so that he can maneuver through it in his wheelchair. These are just some of the expenses he will have as he begins his journey, and there is no telling what other expenses he will have that we aren't even aware of yet.

 

This tragedy will be difficult to overcome, but I know that with the help of our friends, family, and people like you, Dave will be able to resume his independence.
