David's Eagle Project

My name is David Uribe, and I am a Boy Scout in Burke, Virginia.  Last year, I learned about the sport of orienteering through an event hosted by the Quantico Orienteering Club.  Since then, I have enjoyed practicing this sport and developing my map reading and navigations skills with my fellow Scouts. All the fun I have had over the past year doing orienteering has given me a great idea for my Eagle project—to install a permanent orienteering course at Fountainhead Regional Park. This course will benefit the NOVA Parks by attracting people of all ages to come to Fountainhead and have fun learning and practicing the sport of orienteering.  (If you are not familiar with orienteering, check out this link  for more information.)

My fundraiser will be running for about 3 weeks (9/19/20 – 10/9/20). All the money raised during this period will be used to help purchase materials including wood posts, nails, signs, etc for my project. Any money that is left over will go to Fountainhead Regional Park.
