Dave McAndrew's battle with Cancer!

On Thursday, June 26th,our lives got turned upside down. Our father, Dave McAndrew, went to the emergency room for stomach pain. After a few scans we were told he had a large tumor on his small intesntine, and multiple tumors on his liver, and that it looked bad. It was a major punch to the stomach for all of us. After several tests and a week in the hospital, he was diagnosed with stage 4, small bowel cancer, which is indeed very rare. His doctor said he has a long battle ahead, but that he’s only 62 and in good health and has a fighting chance. He’s choosing to fight! He is currently home on pain medication and is about to start chemotherapy.

If you know our father, then you know he’s a selfless, thoughtful, simple person that would help any neighbor or friend in need. As we plan to help out as much as we can, he’s responsible for 20% of his medical fees. Our mom, Debbie, has already lost 2 weeks of work, and plans to be by his side as much as he needs.  Any small donation would help them at this very difficult time. Our parents have been married for 42 years. Our dad’s a loyal, loving, family man and friend to many. He’s truly one of a kind!
