A member of our Canucks family has been battling cancer for a while now, having had surgery recently to remove a tumour and is now facing ongoing radiation therapy and chemotherapy, and is facing a devastating financial situation which will put strain on his own life and the livelihood of his family. He has a wife and two young sons at home to support. In his own words today: 

"The past couple days have been tough. Not only do I need radiation therapy, but it now looks like I need Chemo as well. On top of that I start a new job on Tuesday and now I feel like I’m letting them down because my doctor says I may miss up to 6 months of work. It really sucks because I won’t qualify for medical EI either so I don’t know how to make ends meet during this time. I know it’s almost impossible but i will try work through the cancer treatments. Please pray I have the strength and for me to find a way to support my family financially if I do have to miss an extended period of time...and that I won’t lose my new job as a result. Tonight I will be escaping in the Canucks game so GoCanucksGo! I need something good right now."
Let's give him hope and something good to look forward to. He's facing a very tough situation and is trying to put on a brave face for his family. The stress of having to work through cancer treatments, or being unable to work at all and potentially losing his job, is too much stress for any individual battling cancer. I respect him so much as a human being, husband and father. Let's help him reduce his stress and anxiety and help him provide for his family as he recovers.
