DAPHNE (Device for Assistance in Psychology and Human for Nationals at the Exterior) is a young charitable non-profit organization whose mission is to meet the first psychological needs of expatriates through a network of professional volunteers working in concert with diplomatic and consular networks to provide support and guidance to crisis victims, as well as a training or preparedness mission.
We need money to develop this innovative and helpful project for our community living outside of their home country.
These challenges are important, but we are addressing them every day, using our structures and procedures, and supported by a solid vision and values.
To provide quality of guidance and orientation, DAPHNE relies primarily on a network of expatriate volunteers with appropriate professional, linguistic and cultural skills. It then relies on a flexible, resilient and integrated structure to act quickly, reliably and with scalability. Finally, important synergies with diplomatic networks and local stakeholders can significantly reduce the costs of emergency psychological assistance abroad.
In concrete terms, the purpose is to set up psychological guidance and orientation units spread throughout the territory of the countries concerned by our operations. These units will be activated in the event of a crisis by the consular and diplomatic crisis units of the partner countries. Once activated, they will have at their disposal a wide range of means and procedures, both in the field and remotely, with several levels of activation.
In non-crisis times, training and prevention sessions will be organized in collaboration with our partners in various forms according to needs. This could include group training, for example through seminars, conferences, round tables and workshops, or more individualized training.
In terms of our values, we are firmly committed to contributing to the conditions for bringing relief to as many people as possible by alleviating the psychological burden of accidents in living abroad. This requires absolute humility and probity in the face of events, but also an action that combines rationality and high standards. Finally, this requires respect for differences and an altruistic, empathetic and sincere humanity.
As our mission has a universal vocation, we will extend our operations in several countries to several nationalities of nationals
