Spende geschützt

Dear friends and family,
Seven years ago I traveled to Bombo, Uganda on a medical trip. The ill would walk for days to our temporary clinic, and some had waited years before receiving treatment. While this trip was inspiring, our clinic could not provide continuous care, and my heart ached for patient’s who would likely receive no further treatment after our departure. I felt frustrated knowing that so many patients would remain untreated or their problems would reappear soon after our clinic ended. This feeling marked a critical moment in my decision to become a physician, a career where I could provide continuous care to others.
Reflecting on my African experience, and now nearing the completion of my first year in medical school, I have decided go on another medical trip to help those who are less fortunate and have limited access to medical care. This time I will be traveling to Cusco, Peru with the medical volunteer program called UBELONG (https://ubelong.org). The UBELONG mission is to bring people together, share their humanity, and take action for positive change. Together with several of my medical school classmates, I will be working in local clinics to help decrease the burden placed on local physicians to meet the demands of the ill. Most importantly, I will be part of a team providing continual aid to people in need, and together with past and future volunteers, the patients I help will be afforded care into the future.
This is an opportunity of a lifetime and will allow me to expand on my medical experiences to help me become a well-rounded and compassionate student, and ultimately, physician. However, I need your help to make this medical service trip possible. We are responsible for raising funds for room, board, transportation, and clinical costs. Any contributions you are able to make to help support my trip is greatly appreciated. I plan on leaving for Peru the first week of June, so an earlier response would help me tremendously.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!
Much love,
