Following the devastating earthquake that struck Venezuela, thousands of families are facing the difficult challenge of rebuilding their lives. Beyond the physical destruction, many communities lost safe spaces where children, youth, and adults could learn, connect, and strengthen their sense of belonging.

Recovery is about more than rebuilding homes and infrastructure. It is also about restoring hope, rebuilding community ties, and creating opportunities for people to heal, grow, and move forward together.

That is why Venezuela Danza y Tambor created Dancing to Heal Venezuela—a Community Recovery Program Through Arts and Culture designed to support earthquake-affected communities by using traditional Venezuelan arts as a tool for healing, education, and social recovery.

Our program recognizes that culture is not a luxury after a disaster—it is an essential part of helping communities regain confidence, preserve their identity, and rebuild stronger together.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide free access to arts and cultural education for children, youth, and adults affected by the earthquake while creating safe, welcoming spaces where participants can reconnect with their community, develop new skills, and preserve Venezuela's rich cultural heritage.

The program will initially launch in Caracas and La Guaira, with plans to expand to additional communities as funding becomes available.

Why Arts and Culture?
