Early Sunday morning my two brother in laws, Chase (15 years old) and Dakota (16 years old), were involved in a severe car accident. They were both ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. Paramedics were able to promptly arrive to the scene and transfer them to Cohen’s Children’s Medical Center, were they are currently receiving treatment. Chase has sustained some severe orthopedic injuries that require surgery. Dakota remains intubated and in the ICU in critical condition. The doctors stated that he had truama to both his lungs and brain and some severe wounds that will likely require surgical debridement. Dakota and Chase are both students at Hicksville High School, and have a love and passion for baseball. We are hopeful that they will be back on the field and doing what they love in no time. Due to this tragic accident, my mother and father in law will be unable to work, while they stay in the hospital taking care of the boys. Please keep the Melville family in your prayers during this trying time. They have a long road to recovery but are strong and will get through this!
