my dads final trip home

Our father passed away in Corpus Christi Texas. He is 12 hours away from home. The past month we have made several trips to Corpus Christi that have exhausted our funds and we are without immediate use of additional funding. Nor did he leave a life insurance policy. Please help us raise the funds needed to have him cremated and shipped home to us to be scattered along side our mother.
We can never describe to out how painful it was to be by his bedside holding his hand as he left to be with God. Our father was the strongest man we had ever met; a committed man and a proud United States war veteran, doing three tours in Vietnam. But in spite of his strength, preparing for his death was not one of them. This is by far the scariest moment I have ever experienced, unprepared myself. The peace has been replaced with a frantic reality of, "what do we do now?"
We are reaching out to you now, reaching to those who can give a little or lot to help us. We are embarrassed that it has come to this. Ashame that we have to lean so heavily on those of you who may have had very little to no contact with our father but our family is left with no choice. Please find it deep within your heart to help with the funding we need to get him home. I'd ask you to imagine yourself in this position however this is by far, without a doubt, the most frightening feeling no one should ever have to experience.
We will not be able to fund a funeral, but are hoping to announce a memorial for him. We are asking that in leiu of flowers, please donate the cost of flowers to our "fathers final trip home"
