Dad's Fight

Hey everyone this is Lindsay and Austin. We made this go fund me to help ease the financial responsibilities for our dad during this time. On January 9th 2017 our dad got diagnosed with colon cancer,during a colonoscopy. He was admitted and had emergency surgery. The tumor was bigger than expected, they took half of the colon leaving a seven inch incision. After the surgery dad had a lot of complications- he got an infection from the fluid, and had allergic reactions to medicines, leaving him in the hospital for a month instead of 7-10 days. During the hospital stay we learned that the stress from the tumor had put his heart into A-fib. He's been on blood thinners and he's still in A-fib. The biopsy from the tumor revealed the cancer wasn't contained and had spread to the lymph nodes. He had to heal from the surgery and get stronger before his Doctor would release him to start chemo, therefore he is behind.He left for cancer treatment centers of America this morning so they can fix his heart and get him started on chemo. He will be traveling to get infusions in Tulsa (Cancer Centers of America) every two weeks on top of chemo pills everyday. The course of cancer is financially devastating. He hasn't been able to work since he was diagnosed, on top of being out of work for three months and counting, he will be losing his insurance and all benefits in one week. Chemo is 60,000 dollars , the doctor visits plus the traveling expenses for the cancer centers of America are totaling up. Thanks for taking the time to pray for Dad.
